At Herts Urgent Care (HUC), we’re on a mission to ensure that each of our 4.5 million patients across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, West Essex, and the Southwest receive the healthcare they need, when they need it. Our services, which include NHS 111 and Out of Hours GP, are available around the clock, every day of the year. We’re seeking individuals, even without prior healthcare experience, to join us in making a difference in our communities.
Position: NHS 111 Call Handler
Employment Type: Part-time
Compensation: £12.21 per hour
Location: Peterborough, UK
Roles & Responsibilities
– Patient Triage: Handle both urgent and non-urgent cases, guiding patients to the most appropriate healthcare provider or service.
– NHS Pathways Software: Evaluate patients’ conditions and direct them to the correct healthcare professional or service.
– Advanced Training: Utilize your exceptional listening and questioning skills to provide clear advice and right direction to patients. Note that training runs for 6 weeks, from 9am-5pm, regardless of contracted hours.
Eligibility Requirements
Essential Criteria
– Resides within a 60-minute commute
– Possesses customer service experience
– Holds the right to work in the UK
– Can commit to a full-time, 6-week training program (9am-5pm Monday- Friday)
Desirable Criteria
– Previous experience in call handling
