The Role
Data Scientists play a vital role in the construction of models that enable our client to provide a hyper-personalized customer experience. Furthermore, they serve as internal consultants within the organization, providing expert counsel to the executive teams on matters pertaining to predictive analytics and machine learning.
Responsibilities of a Chief Data Scientist
- This is a diversified role that involves hands-on model building and consulting across the wider business, acting as the Data Science authority for the core customer-facing platform.
- Working in tandem with Customer Experience, Product, Design, and Engineering teams to showcase use cases for hyper-personalization, intelligent site navigation, and behavioural segmentation.
- Collaborating with Optimization teams on projects that leverage advancements in Big Data & Machine Learning.
- Creating frameworks that promote the optimization of precision marketing.
- Providing technical leadership to the broader team, both in-house and agency-side.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Senior Data Scientist in a commercial setting.
- Previous experience leading Data Science teams in an eCommerce or conversion rate optimization-focused setting is desirable.
- Hands-on experience with Machine & Deep Learning, AI and Neural Networks tools including Python, Spark, Tensor Flow.
- Proficiency in core programming languages including Python, Java, C/C++, R.
- Ability to operate in a cross-functional environment, managing multiple stakeholders and translating research into practical solutions for predictive analytics.
- Experience in solution design, architecting, and outlining data analytics pipelines and flows.
- Advanced Mathematics skills including experience with Bayesian statistics, linear algebra, and MVT calculus, advanced data modelling and algorithm design experience.
- Design and deployment experience using Tensor Flow, Spark ML, CNTK, Torch, or Caffe.
