Part-time Receptionist Role at YMCA Brighton Supported Housing

YMCA Brighton Supported Housing is in search of a dedicated Receptionist to become an integral part of our team at William Collier House, Brighton. The role involves serving as the first line of contact for callers, visitors, or clients requiring help. The receptionist will also be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the project and the tenancy, invoking the support of on-call staff as needed, and undertaking various administrative duties as instructed.

Roles & Responsibilities:

– Handle incoming calls for staff and clients, transferring or informing clients as needed.
– Utilize the intercom and paging systems for communicating messages to clients or staff.
– Welcome all visitors with courtesy and professionalism, ensuring their queries are directed appropriately.
– Implement health and safety procedures, ensuring all visitors sign in and out of the building.
– Professionally and sensitively assist clients with their inquiries, seeking the advice and support of project staff when needed.
– Encourage clients to comply with project rules regarding alcohol, noise, visitors, and disturbances.
– Report any safeguarding, safety, or security concerns pertaining to the project or individual clients to supervisory staff.
– Maintain a clean reception area and carry out specified cleaning duties.
– Perform laundry duties when necessary.
– Conduct administrative tasks such as photocopying or making telephone calls as instructed by project or managerial staff.
– Contact emergency services when needed or in case of alarms.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

– Understand the boundaries of the worker/client relationship and confidentiality issues.
– Adhere to GDPR and Data governance.
– Some understanding of the client group’s issues is preferable.
– Experience is not essential; candidates must demonstrate the necessary skills for the role.
– Previous experience in a similar field or Reception work is beneficial.
– Ability to report and record information clearly.
– Effective communication skills with a diverse client group.
– Ability to respond appropriately to emergencies or challenging situations.
– Ability to work as part of a team demonstrating punctuality, flexibility, and openness.
